Who We Are
The Bullitt County Animal Control and Shelter is the primary sheltering and enforcement agency for domestic animals in Bullitt County, Kentucky.
The Bullitt County Animal Control and Shelter was established by Bullitt County Fiscal Court in accordance with the Kentucky Revised Statutes. Our mission is to provide services which safeguard the public and to humanely house and care for the animals in our care; to protect the animals of the community from abuse and neglect and to provide it’s citizens with information concerning responsible ownership.
Services
Bullitt County Animal Control and Shelter operates as the County’s public safety and law enforcement agency with regards to domestic dogs and cats. We investigate potential animal abuse and neglect; maintain a pet licensing program; engage the community with pet adoptions and volunteer opportunities; and MUCH MORE!

Pet License
In accordance with KRS. 258.135 Bullitt County has a pet license program. All dogs and cats which reside in Bullitt County must be licensed. The licenses are available at the Bullitt County Animal Control and Shelter and the Judge Executive’s office. In order to obtain a license you will need to present proof of rabies vaccinations and spay/neuter. The licenses are valid for one fiscal year {June to June}. The cost of the pet license are as follows:
Altered dogs/cats: $10.00
Unaltered dogs/cats: $30.00
